Water for Bheemanapalli
VILLAGE PROFILE OF BHEEMANAPALLI
Bheemanapalli village has neither a bore-well nor a well. The entire community is dependent only on a spring which is 100 metres away from the village and is situated 50 metres below the village level. During the rainy season; the spring is contaminated with agricultural effluents.
The community leaders approached VJNNS with a request for GFWSS, as the spring is located at a distance of 1.05 kilometres with 970 metres elevation at source, though it has a good yield. The community was duly motivated and they have shown interest to invest labor as their contribution. They formed a 9 member Village Development Committee to reach the identified spring source, which is at a distance about 1.05 kilometres near Jammulakonda hillock.
The request of the community is genuine and has thus been recommended for the Gravity Fed Water Supply System as it is an appropriate solution to solve the drinking problem of the village for the present and future generations. The community also agreed upon maintaining it by saving some portion of their earnings and contributing towards the repairs of the system.
