Water for Govada
Govada is a village under Sankada Panchayat in G.K.Veedhi Mandal of Visakhapatnam District. This village is having the main road and is connected with Matti road on the way to Chinthapalli to Pedavalasa road. This village distancing around 15 kms from mandal office has a school as well, where around 77 students are getting education. Govada where most of the people belong to Bhagata, Gadaba, kammari and valmiki community contains 65 families with a population of 290. Though female (148) outnumber males (142), their literacy rate is more in male (100) than female are literate (58).
Almost all the villagers work in agriculture farm lands mostly confine to dry lands. More than 95% of the houses are having tailed roof and the rest semi-pucca. Like most of the poorer villages, govada too has food security problem, where in 50% of the villagers sometime do not have half day meals. Annual Expenditure being more than income doesn’t allow them to take loan facilities as they do not hold re-paying capacity. Most of the people are benefitted by various Government schemes such as rationcards, MGNREGS, Arogya Sri etc. but still many other schemes are yet to reach these villages well like housing, agriculture etc.
