Manjuguda Village is having two water resources. An open well exists which is at a distance of 100 meters. Similarly, a bore well also present placed by the side of open well. Open well needs renovation at platform, and also inner plastering at the well, strengthening of the retaining wall etc. As the entire communities are seeking a piped drinking water as the other villages got facility. Basing on the request of the community, the survey team visited the village and under took the feasibility study for the gravity system. According to the study team, it is learnt that there is about 11 meters elevation distance between village center point (1199mts)and source(1180Mts) that community shown. Hence it is very difficult to bring any such gravity water to the village and cater drinking water through pipe lines.
The study team further reviles that solar water lifting and pumping into a filter tank system can be an alternative suggestion instead of Gravity system. It is therefore if any donor or government extends its support to this village it can be a model system and at the same time the struggle of women folk can be reduced at the maximum extent. The village community shown interest to put their labor contribution, and formed a 11 member Village Development Committee is formed to monitor and execute the works if any sanctions took place.
it is therefore, the request of the community is not genuine and recommended for the Solar water lifting system to solve the drinking problem of the village for the present and future generations. The community also agreed upon the maintenance part by saving some portion of their earnings as for the repairs of the system.
