Water for Palada
Palada, belonging to Kitumala panchayat in Chintapalli mandal, Visakhapatnam district is around 8 kms away from main road and is connected by mud road. Distancing around 23 kms from mandal office has a MPP school at a distance of 1 km. This MPP School which educates 44 children does not have water and toilet facility.
Primarily a Hindu village, Palada has a population of 278 people comprising of 76 families out of which 84 women & 60 men are illiterate! Most of the people are either working in agriculture lands or in some daily labour work (usually outside village). We do have few people working in government offices as well as private industries. Average income of the village is in between 5k – 10k out of which, 10% of the village is way below poverty line raising food security issues all through out the year.
More than 90% of the women are members of women association & most of thegovernment schemes have reached this village like ration cards, pension, housing pattas etc. Still almost of the entire village still depend upon firewood for coking purpose.
